FINAL CONCLUSION: THE LAST DAY

We learn about recicling the differents products and reduce our ecologycal footprint. We like this subject because is very interesting and easy. We learn to do soap from the oil. We make experiments and we creat charts in the results and we write coclusions about this. We learn new vocabulary. We use new scientific instruments. We discovered the impact of polluting products and we spend a good time.

Recycling oil:

To recycle oil we dicided to make soap. We took 20 ml of oil and we filtered it. Then we put 4 g of hidroxium of sodium in a erlenmeyer with destilled water. Then we mixted the filtred oil with powder soap, hand soap and flour. This mixture we atted to the destilled water and hidroxium of sodium. Finally we waited for a week.

WATER POLUTION

Worksheet 7

We wanted to know how much effect the pollutings solutions at the growth of the seeds.

Procedure:

We prepared three polluting solutions: 1 M, 0,1 M, 0,01 M of Ammonia, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. We also did one with only distilled water. We put ten seeds of soja in a petri capsula with paper and all solutions. Then we wait a week and we observe the results, we mesured the length of the seeds, we did average, and we count how much seeds of ten growed. Then we did this table.

Result:

Conclusion:

If we pollute the water the seeds don't grow up. Then the herbiborous don't have eat, and then the carnivorous and the humans don't have eat too. If there not seeds, there is not oxigen too.
For this reason we must have mind with the pollutings.

Worksheet 6

MICRO CLIMATES IN THE CITY

The climate in the city is not the same as the one in the country. It creates what we call a urban microclimate, caused by the constant activy of men, the air-condithionoing, cars drivings, buildings, etc.
We get an anemometer and a termometer and we went to Urquinaona's square,
we mesure the floor temperature, the air temperature and the windspeed. Then we went in front of corte inglés, in the middle of Catalonia square and in the roof of our school and we did the same.
here is the graffic:

Conclusions: So, in the sit is hotter than
other sides because make microclimates with all buildings and roads.

Worksheet 9

Our ecological footprint

We draw a footpring steping on one paper with our foot. Today we consult in one web ( doing one test) wich is our ecological footprint. The web gives the result in "dam2" and we translate this in cm2. Then we mesure the length and width of our footprint and multiply that to know the area. Finaly we divide the ecological footprint by the area of foot and we get the number of footprints that we waste in one day.Every day I print 5.138.888,88 footprints. Do you think that this is a lot? I think the same.if you want to do the same and know haw much footprints do yo print a day click here!

Worksheet 4

DENSITY OF TRANSPORTS

We went out of the school to the same three streets than the last day. In those streets we count ( whith the counter) the number of cars, buses, taxis, motorbikes and pedestrians in five minutes. Then we divided the resaults by five to know the number of vehicles per minute. Here you have the results:

Conclusion:

Our conclusion is that Casp and Pau Claris have simillar width, but in Pau Claris the density of vehicles is much more than Casp. Gran Via is the street with more density because is a main street, with a lot of lanes, so the results are bigger than Casp and Pau Claris.
But the width of Pau Claris and Casp is similar while in Pau Claris the traffic is more than in Casp because Pau Claris cross the city from the mountain to the sea and is very long and cross Aragó, Diagonal and gran Via (all of them main streets). However Casp is a short street , don't cross main streets and for this reason the traffic is less. It is a street with less polution and noys, so there are a lot of pedastrians walking.

Worksheet 3

MOBILITY AND WAYS OF TRANSPORT

We went to Pau Claris, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Casp, (streets araound our school) and we mesure the widh of this three streets. We measure the widh of the streets measuring our step and multiply it by the number of steps. After this, we measure the widh of the sidewalk by the same way.

In Gran Via more than the half is for cars because is a main street but in Pau Claris and Casp the sidewalk is better for the pedestrians. Pau Claris and Casp are similars but in Pau Claris the traffic is more dense than in Casp, so the polution too.
